7 Hacks To Help Stay Active and On Track This Summer

·

Summer can be tough! These 7 Hacks To Help Stay Active and On Track This Summer- will help you breeze through the summer without gaining!

How are you doing? Are you surviving summer? With endless BBQs and the pull of all the good eats of summer staying on track with the plan to eat smart and healthy can seem hard and sometimes pointless. Seriously summer is the hardest time (besides the obvious Holidays) to eat healthy. { In my humble opinion!} Schedules are out the window and time seems to rush by as we go go go! Although you may be more active playing with kids and being outdoors exploring – If you’re not planning ahead, those Popsicle and Slurpee runs can seem REALLY tempting! Here are my 7 tips for staying on track and to keep losing while you ENJOY Summer and the Food! 😉

7 Clever Hacks to help you stay on track this summer

1. Eat a GOOD Breakfast – Starting out strong will keep you full and will give you the energy to keep up with the kiddos – breakfast with a good portion of protein and healthy carbs is the perfect start! A protein shake with spinach and fruit is a perfect combo, oatmeal, or eggs are always an eggcellent choice. (Sorry had to!)

2. Be Active! Staying active will help you to ward off pounds and keep you energized as well! Bodies that are in motion tend to stay in motion!

3. Pack gum always! I always have a good sugar free gum on hand! When I’m bored and find I’m reaching for food just because – I’ll stick a piece of gum in and that will give me a nice burst of flavor without undoing all my progress.

4. Plan ahead! Make sure you PACK your own snacks! Don’t depend on what you’re friends or family bring! No matter what I always bring a bag full of smart snacks just in case. 😉 For example, some great packable snacks are; almonds, cheese sticks, protein bars, carrots, apples, almond milk, and coconut water {I love that the I can find Almond Breeze Almond Milk and Greater Than Coconut Water Sports Drink packed in Tetra Pak cartons, so no need to refrigerate!}

Healthy Snacks To Go

5. DRINK YOU WATER! It’s so important to stay hydrated! Proper hydration is key for weight loss! Make sure you’re drinking at least 2/3 of your weight in ounces! Try flavored waters for extra flavor and to help curb your sweet tooth

6. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep! When you’re  not getting enough zzz’s your body goes into CARB craving mode and you’ll find yourself reaching for bread, chips, and sugar just to get through the day! It is CRAZY almost without fail this happens to me!

7. Enjoy Treats! Yep, you read that right! A big part of losing weight and keeping it off is learning how to eat your favorite foods in moderation! So enjoy those treats that are only available in the summer! Just keep your portions small and savor and enjoy EVERY bite!

TetraPak

As mentioned previously Tetra Pak cartons are excellent for toting along when you’re out and about. They are light weight, easy to open and require no refrigeration, AND they are recyclable all wins! I like to take them along with me when I’m hiking because they are so lightweight, and I can squish them down when I’m done! Especially the Flow Water!

For more information on products that use the awesome packaging that is Tetra Pak check out their website and look for the label when you’re at your local store!

So friends! You got this!

The Summer is yours enjoy it, stay active, practice moderation, and some good planning! 😉

    Staying hydrated is the biggest one for me!

  2. I ALWAYS pack snacks and have them stashed everywhere! Sleep is a big one for me and what I eat the next day and I struggle with this when I don’t get enough sleep which is too often lately. Breakfast is something that I’m so good at until summer when my workout schedule and schedule in general is thrown off and I’m trying to figure that out more. If I don’t have a big enough breakfast the rest of the day is off, yet I don’t like to eat a lot before working out so with classes being anywhere from 5:30 to 10am it’s not as easy as when things are more routine.
