It seems the older I get and the older my children get, the crazier my life has become! I really thought that as my children got older time would slow a bit and my gig as “Mom” would not be as all encompassing 😉 Chalk that up to my astounding naivety… But alas I have come to find that life does not slow down in fact I think it is only speeding up! Sorry to scare you younger Moms… but it’s true!
With that being said mornings are for sure a crazy time! Getting everyone all set for school and heading out the door takes WORK! And the last thing I have time for after coming home from the gym is making myself breakfast! I have been reading about overnight oats and how awesome they are and truth be told I have NOT tried them! (My head is now hung in shame at this confession) I know I know as a fit foodie I should totally have been on the overnight oats train a LONG time ago! But as previously mentioned my life is busy and I kept putting off.
So at last the stars have collided and I got my hands on some delicious Silk® brand dairy free alternative yogurt and I thought… why not jump on board the over night oats train and test it out with some of this creamy plant protein packed yogurt alternative!
Folks the outcome was Ahh-mazing! Seriously I am kicking myself for not trying overnight oats sooner!! And adding Silk® dairy free yogurt alternative was a touch of genius! The result was as if I was eating DESSERT for breakfast!! It was creamy and delicious! A total win!!
Did you know that Silk® was now in the yogurt alternative business? Seriously it is the most awesome stuff and you won’t even miss the dairy! Each serving is packed with 6 grams of plant-powered protein, is an excellent source of calcium and vitamin D, and contains no cholesterol, dairy, lactose, gluten, carrageenan or casein. You can’t beat that!
So friends do yourself a favor take a few minutes and food prep yourself some of these yummy overnight oats! You can eat them while you’re finding lost shoes, doing hair, and finding homework! That way you won’t find yourself in starvation mode once the kids have finally made it out the door to school! Really they are breeze to make and you could make a few at a time!
