How To Look and Feel Your Best During The Holidays – Tips and suggestions to help you look and feel healthy and vibrant this Holiday season!

Let’s face it, this time of year can weigh on you. Yes, it is “The Most Wonderful Time of Year” but it can also be the most stressful time of year.

So it’s crucial that you take the time to help you and your family not only look good, (I’m looking at you, annual family pictures) but also, more importantly, to FEEL good! I want to help keep you healthy and full of energy this Holiday season!

So if you struggle this time of year to feel relaxed and peaceful then this article is for you, sweet friend.

How To Look and Feel Your Best During The Holidays:

  • Sleep: Getting adequate rest this time of year can be easier said than done. With holiday parties, recitals and family gatherings, you and the kiddos are all getting to bed a little bit later than usual. Try focusing on getting quality sleep. If you cutting back on hours make sure they ALL count! I love using white noise and diffusing lavender essential oil in everyone’s bedroom to entice sleep and to help us all calm down quickly when we hit the pillow at night. If possible, try adding in a power nap sometime during your day. Even 30 minutes can help reinvigorate you.
  • Water: I hit on the this a lot here at Maybe I Will. Water will help keep you healthy and hydrated during this busy time. Drinking your water can help you to continually flush toxins from your system that can cause you to become ill. Make sure your kids are drinking up too! Send them to school with a thermos they can keep at their desk and drink from throughout their day. I have not met a teacher yet that has been upset with this!
  • Vitamins: Make sure that you are taking a good multivitamin that has plenty of vitamin C to help keep you and your immune system healthy.
  • Relax: Yes, you may have a mile long to-do list that seems to have no end in sight but force yourself to take time to RELAX. Meditate, read a good book, take a power nap, enjoy a hot cup of cocoa or tea, enjoy a warm soak. I promise if you take the time for a break, your mind and body will be so grateful.
  • Practice Gratitude: This is a BIG one! It is easy for myself and my kiddos to get into the “I Want” mind frame this time of year. I have my kids write in their gratitude journals every day. This helps them to remember how lucky they are to be blessed with the things they already have. Gratitude helps make what we already have enough, so if you are finding yourself starting a pity party for one just take a deep breath and start listing all the blessings in your life. If you start to focus on all the good things, you can start to see some major shifts in your attitude and your life.
  • Personal Grooming: Although it’s leggings and jeans weather, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep up on your personal grooming. I am pretty sure no shave November does not refer to our legs and armpits. I have and am still guilty of this from time to time. But I always feel better and sexier when I have cleanly shaved legs and armpits. Throw some makeup on, do your hair, take time to do the things that make you FEEL attractive and like a fully functional human being. And gentleman (all 15% of you) a well-groomed face, beard or not, is HOT! Invest in a good razor to keep things nice and well-groomed.

Currently, at Sam’s Club, you can get this awesome Men’s Gillette Fusion 5 ProShield razor set. It’s a WHOLE year’s worth of awesome shaves for only $37.98 currently on sale through November 25th! I stopped using women’s razors a while ago and have opted for Men’s razors, so this is a gift I myself can enjoy or share it with my hubby!

Smile: Someone once said, “In life, there are two options. You can either laugh or you can cry. I prefer to laugh, crying gives me a headache” I firmly believe in this philosophy. Life can be hard, your kids are not perfect, things will break, people will disappoint you. Learn to smile and laugh and let it go! Don’t let yourself be bogged down by stuff that, in the grand scheme of things, don’t really matter. Learning to let go can be one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. And to make that smile look its best you want a GOOD toothbrush! Smiling will help you feel better this holiday, but a GOOD toothbrush will help you LOOK better. I am super OCD when it comes to brushing and taking care of my teeth. I recently was able to try the Oral-B PRO 6000 Toothbrush. And it is pretty dang sweet! I tend to be an “overbrusher” according to my dentist and my Pro 6000 gets angry at me and glows red when I press too hard, helping me to work on my habit of overbrushing!

Also on SALE is the 2-pack of the Oral-B Pro 6000 electric toothbrush. It’s normally $149.98, but through Nov. 25 you get an instant savings of $30 making the final price $119.98! If you need instant feedback on how you’re doing on keeping your teeth clean, then this is the toothbrush for you! I am loving the live feedback I am getting. It is helping me to up my teeth brushing game!

Both products are available in-club and online for a limited time!

This Holiday season don’t let the hustle and bustle overwhelm you! Take the time to make it special! Take time for you, so that you actually feel well and happy throughout the holidays! By getting good rest, drinking water, taking your vitamins, meditating, practicing gratitude, and practicing good grooming you can look and feel vibrant and energetic this holiday season.

  1. I try to keep on top of my sleep and water drinking. When I don’t drink enough water I get headaches, and when I don’t get enough sleep I turn into the wicked witch. Haha. I am also trying to focus on gratitude – thanks for the reminder!

  2. Rachael Yerkes says:

This is perfect for the holidays! Love it!

  3. Gratitude is the big one for me. Everything I start feeling overwhelmed I just remind my self of all the blessing in my life.

  4. Taylor W. says:

Great tips! Getting enough water and sleep are so important during the holidays!

  5. staying hydrated is one I always have to make sure I’m doing!!

  6. These are all great tips to remember to put into practice not only during the holidays but all year long! I love the quote about the two choices…cry or laugh. That is my big thing to remember. That the things I think are important and stressful probably really don’t matter at all.
