How To Stay Hydrated In The Fall & Winter Months

As the cold weather creeps in and you replace shorts and flip flops with jeans and boots, it’s easy to feel like you aren’t as thirsty or that proper hydration is not as important. It makes sense to think that  since you’re not sweating from every pore on your body you don’t need to drink as much. But actually for a lot of people it’s a lot easier to become dehydrated in the winter than it is in the summer. per a recent hydration study completed by Ocean Spray®. Most people tend to place their healthy water drinking ways on the back burner during the winter months and don’t drink their recommend dosage of 2/3 of their body weight in ounces. I feel like I am the “water lady” telling you to drink your dang water yet again! lol 🙂  But really proper hydration is SOOOOOO important year round! Don't let go of your healthy summer water drinking habits! Here are some great ways to make sure you are staying hydrated this FALL & Winter!

 

Did you know that proper hydration will actually help your body fight off illness in the cold weather months? It sure will! Being properly hydrated helps give your body the strength it needs to fight off bacteria and other infections. So if you don’t want to get sick – drink up!

Proper hydration will also ensure that you have healthy glowing skin all fall and winter long! – So if you want to avoid cracking and dull looking skin – drink up!

Now that I have given ample ammo to help you realize exactly how important proper hydration during the colder months is – let’s get down to some greats ways to get it in!

Set a goal and set timers on your phone to go off  throughout the day to make sure that you are on track to meet your goal! – Just those little check in reminders will help you stay aware and on top of your water intake!

I often will grab my favorite water bottle or a bottle of water when I’m off to run an errand and tell myself it needs to be gone by the time I’m done. Like Mary Poppins once said “In everything there is an element of fun, you find the fun and snap the job’s a game.”
