We hear buzz about “Life Purpose” all over the place. Seriously though, stop and think for a moment. Why are you here on the planet? What did you come here to do? Many people live their entire life without even really contemplating this very important question.
I often envision myself at the end of my life and I see myself get to the “other side”. I truly feel that we all will either think…Dang! I didn’t use my life to do what I had planned! Or we’ll say…Yes! I did awesomely! I touched a lot of lives for the better! I learned a lot! I progressed a ton!
The literal translation of sin is “missing the mark.” I don’t know about you but I don’t want to “miss the mark” with this amazing gift of life. So let’s ask some deep and crucial questions to start to uncover this important piece of the puzzle.
The first step is to set the intention that you are now ready to get REALLY clear on your purpose and ask for it to be revealed. While you’re answering these questions don’t think too hard. You may be surprised at things that surface and randomly pop into your head. There’s only one answer that you can’t write down…”I don’t know”. Nope, that’s a BS answer! Whatever comes to mind write it down!
- Where does my mind/interest naturally go when I don’t have to be thinking about work, bills or responsibilities
- What group am I most passionate about? (i.e. children, teens, elderly, animals, etc.)
- What topics am I most passionate about? (i.e. food, fashion, design, finance, personal growth, addiction, health, relationships, etc.)
- What does the world need?
- What did I plan for my life before I came here (to planet earth)?
- What is my gift to the world?
- What do I want to be remembered by? What is my legacy?
- What are 20 things I’m good at or like to do
- What are 30 things I want in life? (material or non-material)
- What have been my main struggles and lessons in life?
As you read through your answers circle words you are inspired to circle. Close your eyes and take 5 deep breaths to relax your system. Breath in through the nose, out through your mouth. Relax for a moment. Then ask your true self to give you the answers that are deep within. Then out loud ask yourself…What is my life purpose? Write down the first thing that comes to your mind. Then ask again…What is my purpose? Keep writing any answers down that come to you until you feel you are empty. Read what you wrote down and let that sink in! Over the next few weeks as things come to you, pay attention and write them down.
Your subconscious mind has all the answers. It will be trying to reveal whatever you ask, so make sure you are aware. It may come to you in a dream, in the shower or when you’re driving down the road. Maybe you’ll have different cool ideas popping into your mind or you find yourself daydreaming about developing a program to help youth, animals, etc.. Don’t judge whatever comes flowing from your mind of ideas and thoughts.
What most people do is have this intuition to do something really exciting or big and then immediately shut it down by saying, “Yeah right! You think you can change the world? Dream on!!” When the truth is the answer is, “YES!!!!! YOU CAN and WILL if you allow yourself to step into the greatness you were born to do!” If you are reading this then this message was meant to find its way to you so listen. It’s time to make some changes, look in the mirror and get out of your complacency. You are amazing, so own it!
