Nature Can Heal
Life can be hard.
It can throw you some crazy curve balls that make you want to head back to the safety of your bed and never leave it again.
Am I Right??
On my site, I often talk about being healthy, happy, positive, and of course fit. I have been blessed with an eternally optimistic personality, {I can even come off a little Pollyanna-ish, this I know.}
I also firmly believe in the power of our thoughts, and our ability to find happiness and joy within us. We all have everything within us to be truly happy. But sometimes life and circumstances, can push us back down and cause us to really re-think. Even my ever sunny and peaceful self can be challenged and rocked to the core. It is in these hard and trying times that we really need to dig deep and find that inner strength and wisdom we know is there. It is that inner wisdom, peace, and light that has helped guide me and direct me through a lot of hard in my life.
Whether you are a religious person or not – One can not step outside and into the beauty of our amazing world without feeling the power and majesty that is Nature. It is returning to the majesty and beauty of nature that can be transformative and healing.
Nature Can HEAL.
So dear friends if life has somehow sucker punched you…{It happens}
Let me share how Nature if you let it, can help to heal and strengthen you.
” I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put back together” – John Burroughs
“Nature itself is the best physician” – Hippocrates
Wise men have counseled for years the importance of communing with nature and the power and benefits there in.
If you listen and feel, you can probably feel, nature pulling at you. Anytime I step outside whether in my backyard or a parking lot, and I feel the warmth of the sun, or I feel the cool air on my skin – If am truly paying attention the majesty in that small moment is pretty dang cool and powerful.
Why not quantify that.
When when you are feeling broken and need perspective, head into Nature.
Leave your phone, your kids, your world behind – and just go.
Find a quite spot that resonates with you. – If you are lucky and have mountains or preserves nearby – head there!
Or go into your own backyard or nearby park. As long as you are outside somewhere!
Then allow yourself to relax and just breathe.
Sit and breathe – feel the air on your skin, feel the sun, feel the earth beneath you – just be present in the moment. And here is the magic part…. Start to feel and express gratitude for every little thing you can touch and feel. Being grateful for even small seemingly insignificant things can transport you and put your mind and thoughts into a better place. This feeling of love and gratitude can help you to now go back to your present hurt and fill that space with love and peace. It will not “fix” the problem – but it will help you fix how you feel and respond to it.
So after feeling centered and made whole within nature, the question becomes, how do you keep and hold onto those feelings of peace?
We can and should find small and simple ways to infuse more nature into our daily lives, so we can continue to feel the power of nature in our daily lives.
Here are some easy and simple ways to infuse more nature into your daily life:
- Have beautiful house plants – find hearty ones!
- Decorate with elements of nature! – Save seashells from your trip to the beach to display, bring pine cones home from your walk in the woods. Be creative!
- Bath with Sea Salts – Sea Salt has amazing detoxifying qualities!
- Use soaps and personal care items infused with natural ingredients – Tom’s of Maine has a fantastic new line of body care products that are made with the best natural ingredients and will help you care and nurture yourself. {as well as all other items you need to help care for your body}
- Plant a garden
- Take a daily walk out in Nature
These may seem like small and seemingly insignificant changes, but the more we can find ways to connect with nature and make it a part of us, the more peace we can keep and maintain. That’s why I love Tom’s of Maine’s products. You can always count on them to be of the highest quality and truly inspired by Nature. They are a company that cares about providing quality products as well as maintaining a responsible stewardship of this lovely earth we are privileged to call home.
They accomplish this by using a Single-layer 100% post-consumer waste paper wrapper, which means less water and energy use and smaller carbon footprint. Also, 10% of Tom’s of Maine profits go back to supporting people and the planet. They get it! This beautiful planet that gives so freely and openly to us is worth doing our best to help preserve and save.
I personally love their new lavender soaps, and body washes with raw shea butter. There is something magical about bathing with soap that is infused with lavender. It is calming, soothing and relaxing everything you need when you are dealing with hard.
Just remember you can do this! You will get through this, and things will get better. And no matter what you may feel you are not alone, and you are loved more than you know.
